So here’s the deal…

Either I seriously underestimated how much work was still left to do on Shrilugh‘s sequel, The Darkening,

or,

I seriously overestimated my ability to get it done.

Either way, it doesn’t really matter. Gonna have to push that release date back a bit. Both for my sanity, and for the sake of the book. If I keep up my present pace of work, neither one’s gonna be looking so hot by October 30.

You understand, right?

I’m tempted to say The Darkening will be hot off the presses sometime before the end of the year, but honestly, I wilt under pressure. Like, big-time. I can assure you that I’m working my tail off, and that I’ll give you more specifics when I feel confident about them. Sound good?

In the meantime, check out The Darkening‘s Pinterest board (it might be a teensy bit spoilery, so don’t click if you don’t like that sort of thing!), peek at the ever-changing Shrilugh-As You See It Pinterest board, or start a group discussion on Goodreads about why you’re Team Rein or Team Brig (get your t-shirt here), etc., etc.

Right-o. I’m going to get back to work now.

Big love,

Myndi

I hear you. Books are like babies. They’re ready to be born when they’re ready to be born, whether it’s the due date or not. You definitely don’t want it born early. This will be worth the wait. BTW, I don’t think I commented on your book signing party, but it looked like a fun time!

As one of your loyal readers and a member of the fan club … I can wait to see Darkening until you deem it ready to be seen. The wait will make the reveal all the sweeter!

Well at least you recognize your limitations and priorities. Just keep your nose to the grindstone and it will happen when it’s ready.

    Good luck!

I agree with all the above, we only want to read Darkening when you’re happy. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself, we will still be here when it’s ready 🙂
