ROW80 Check-In: Week 4

Hey y’all!

Week four was satisfying. Reading, writing, exercising…all went well. There wasn’t a whole lot of overachieving going on, but I nailed each goal (except one), which is enough for me at the moment. The exception was the ‘do something good for myself’ goal (*scrunches up nose*), but I’ll do better this coming week, promise.

Hey, and you guys, I absolutely loved getting feedback on writing log-lines (and blurbs), and can’t wait to spend some time this week playing with your suggestions. Thanks – like, a ton!

The really, really good news is that I think we’re looking pretty darn good, homeschool-wise. If that aspect of my life is going smoothly, all the other pieces fall into place relatively easily.

Birthday boy!

Today marks my oldest child’s tenth birthday! We’re super pumped – at our house, we celebrate birthdays for a full week. Birthday weeks are everybody’s favorite because it’s a week chock-full of fun, fun, fun. So I might be a little more absent online than normal, partying my booty off to celebrate a decade with one of the coolest, most remarkable young men I’ve ever known. Go ahead and be jealous! Or, better yet, come over and join us in the fun. We know how to have a good time!

Wishing each of you a happy, productive week!

  1. Yay, I’m so happy to hear that you’re hitting almost all of your goals! This week to come, though, definitely focus on fitting at least one thing in for yourself, even if it’s small — I know with birthday festivities happening, things will be a little busy.

Wish your son a happy birthday for me! 10 years is a big accomplishment. :D

    Have a wonderful week, Myndi!

  2. Happy birthday to your son. It’s so good to hear that you are making your goals, but also having time for your family. The balance is so important. We celebrate birthday weeks in my family, too. I still love it! It makes you feel so special to have a whole week about yourself. I’m glad you do that for your kids. I hope you also do something for the big double digits birthday. Unless we live to 100, ten is the only year we move up in digits.

    • Love that you celebrate birthday weeks, too, Ginger…but I should have known, right? Really, I think a little bit of our souls are made of the same stuff. For reals.

Also, I’m bringing the idea of stretching my birthday into a whole month up to the hubster. Bad timing, since the birthday’s in December, but maybe I can worm my way into a half-birthday month… *wiggles eyebrows conspiratorially*

  3. Well Myndi, he is a handsome young man! And I know what you mean about being proud of your kids. Love that! And you know we feel the same about our kids too. Although they grow up too fast Myndi. I HATE that. So drink up your time with each and everyone of them. Make everyday count. Because mine are now out of the house, in a far away land beyond our reach. But they do come back and visit! Happy Dance! Great week you had. Keep it up and take care of that baby! :)

    • eeerrrr….week still going on….I hope it “ENDS” with a glorious bang of celebration and excitement………Good grief I must be burning wicks on ends I didn’t know I had. Can’t seem to keep anything straight these days including the date.
